A Ministry of Caring, A Tradition of Excellence – In 2004, the health care holdings of the Carolina Conference were merged into Carolina Adventist Retirement Systems, Inc. (CARS). A high standard has been set by CARS, based on the philosophy that enhancement of the quality of life and quality of care for each resident is key, regardless of his/her level of care requirements. With campuses in both Asheville and Elizabeth City, the 450 employees of CARS provide care for 460 residents on any given day.
Pisgah Valley Retirement Community, the Asheville campus, is licensed by the NC Department of Insurance as a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC). They provide a full continuum of care with skilled nursing, complete rehabilitation services, Assisted Living, Independent Living Cottages and a fully-equipped Wellness Center complete with a pool, full cardio and strength training equipment.
