A high standard has been set by CARS, based on the philosophy that enhancement of the quality of life and quality of care for each resident is key, regardless of his/her level of care requirements. With campuses in both Asheville and Elizabeth City, the 450 employees of CARS provide care for 460 residents on any given day.
Pisgah Valley Retirement Community, the Asheville campus, is licensed by the NC Department of Insurance as a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC). The Winslow Memorial campus also provides skilled nursing, complete rehabilitation services and Assisted Living for the residents of Elizabeth City and the surrounding area. Although the Winslow campus has been providing care in the Elizabeth City area for over 40 years, they just moved and rebuilt their facilities on 20 acres just outside the city.
