"Understanding Addiction & Recovery" Workshop
Please mark your calendars now for a special workshop entitled Spiritual Care Giving: Understanding Addiction and Recovery within the Faith Community, to be presented on Friday, June 14th at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Research conducted in the Upstate in 2003 showed that individuals and families who are suffering with substance use disorders often turn to their church family for help. Too often church leaders do not feel prepared to assist these families, nor do they know the many resources that are available in the community.
To address these needs, Pavillon Treatment Center, in partnership with Faces and Voices of Recovery (FAVOR) Greenville, Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, Adventist Recovery Ministries and Spartanburg Seventh Day Adventist Church is presenting a day-long interdenominational workshop designed especially for clergy, pastoral counselors, lay ministers and other professionals who want to enhance their ministries and deepen their pastoral relationship with individual and families impacted by addiction.
This workshop will be held on Friday, June 14th, from 8:30 until 4:30, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center, Heart Center Auditorium. The cost is $ 15 per person, includes lunch, and registration is required.
The attached (or enclosed for letter) flyer includes more details about the workshop and how to register. Also attached is an insert that can be placed in your church bulletin if so desired.
