Remembering Who We Are
Posted on May 25, 2009

“Could it be that we are living in the last generation? The remnant generation? If so, what is He calling us to be?” These are a few questions that Dr. Michael Hasel proposed last night to the packed auditorium at the opening meeting as he spoke on our theme, “Christ Our Cornerstone.”
Hasel spoke on the identity of the Remnant Church and the characteristics that the they should have. As he pointed out, people don't always like the phrase “Remnant Church” because it gives off an exclusive connotation, when in all actuality it should really humble us. When some hear the word “remnant” the thought “out of touch with culture” comes to mind. Hasel stated that that is the point, the remnant is a minority, a small group set aside by God for the end times.
The end times will be as in the days of Noah, and according to Genesis 6:5, in those days man was wicked and had evil in his heart. Hasel suggests that the characteristics that Noah had that set him apart from the people of his day are the characteristics that we, the Remnant Church, need to have today. He gave us four last night: 1. Noah was a righteous man. 2. He was blameless in his day. This does not mean that he did not do anything wrong. It has more to do with moral integrity. 3. He walked with God. Hasel stated that you cannot have righteousness or blamelessness without walking with God first. 4. The covenant that is established between God and man.
Make sure to attend each evening as Dr. Hasel expounds on the Remnant Church and our purpose in the end times.
