Mt. Carmel Company on a Mission for Jesus

Members and friends of the Mt. Carmel Mission gathered together on January 9, 2010, for the happy occasion of organizing their group into an official company of the Carolina Conference.

Just a few short years ago, Mt. Carmel Mission began with a word of instruction spoken to husband and wife team, Jerome and Beverly Washington. It was while they were living in Huntsville, AL, that God inspired them to begin a new
church effort in the Charleston, SC, area.  They returned to South Carolina in 2002 with this goal in mind.

The couple met with the Charleston church pastor, Eli Rojas, on January 1, 2007, about the church plant idea. He and the church board voted enthusiastically to proceed, and only a couple of weeks later, on January 13, they had their first Sabbath worship at the Mt. Carmel Mission with 20 people in attendance. They now have a regular attendance of around 50 each week.

The last three years have been filled with victory after victory for the Lord’s work in Charleston. The members of the new Mt. Carmel Mission Company have grown closer together as a church family as they continue to strive to grow closer to the Lord. Church planting is hard work, but God has never failed at one yet!
