The Importance of Health

Posted on Mar 09, 2010

The Gastonia Church conducted a Healthy Living Seminar which began on January 9, 2010 and lasted for last 8 weeks. The seminar presented Healthy Cooking classes every Saturday afternoon on how lifestyle changes will lead to marvelous healing from diseases. These classes provided education in the reversal of Diabetes and Heart Disease, lowering of blood pressure and cholesterol levels, more energy and mental focus, and many other health benefits. An exercise class was added in February to bring together a total fitness for the temple of God, our bodies. These sessions followed the cooking classes.

Some of the topics discussed included how sugar affects the body and what foods help lower cholesterol. Other helpful tips like shopping for groceries, preparation of foods, and benefits of certain foods based on a particular disease, helped to further encourage healthy living. Romans 12:1 says, "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service." The Gastonia church is using this scripture as their theme of achieving optimal health to glorify God.
