The 10,000 President’s Prayer Partners is a fast-growing group of Carolina Conference constituents who take matters such as these to their knees. We invite you to join us, and make this monthly list a matter of prayer. Together we seek the Lord for His answers and provisions to every need we bring before Him.
1. PRAYING FOR OUR ACADEMIES
One of the most challenging and yet rewarding responsibilities I have ever shouldered was that of serving as an academy principal.
In Carolina, we are blessed to have two wonderful secondary boarding schools for high-school age students who may not have access to a Seventh-day Adventist education in their local communities.
Mount Pisgah Academy is operated by the Carolina Conference. Fletcher Academy is a self-supporting entity. Both are God’s schools -- dedicated to touching the hearts and lives of young men and women to serve Christ and His church.
Unfortunately, we live in a world engulfed by influences from the enemy - designed to take our eyes off Jesus - especially in the Seventh-day Adventist church.
This evil agent seeks to sow seeds of discord and strife, to insert creeping compromises designed to disintegrate the very fabric of our faithfulness.
We are counseled to live in the world, and at the same time cautioned to be not of the world. That’s why I thank God for the sacred grounds of our academies which provide a place of spiritual and social nurture, accompanied by academic excellence and physical development in the lives of our youth.
We need to pray for both of our principals – at Pisgah and Fletcher, along with the entire team of faculty and staff it takes to operate each academy. Pray specifically for these needs at both of these academies:
Pray for spiritual unity and faithfulness to Jesus on each campus: MPA and FA.
Pray for operational and staffing resources that will continue to provide a level of Christ-like educational excellence at both these schools.
Pray for God’s leading in the lives of our students and in the homes of our students’ families.
Pray for God’s blessings and financial resources to be poured out on families who place Adventist education first and endeavor to send their child/children to academy.
2. A NEW BUS FOR MOUNT PISGAH ACADEMY
I CHOOSE TO KEEP THIS PRAYER PETITION, WHICH WE LAUNCHED AT THE BEGINNING OF THIS YEAR, BEFORE YOU THROUGH THE REMAING MONTHS OF 2018. LET’S CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR GOD’S PROVISION TILL WE REACH THE REALITY OF THIS DREAM COME TRUE FOR MPA!
There are times when we pray about small things. There are other times we pray over larger items. But nothing is too small or too big for the God that you and I worship! WE TRULY NEED A RELIABLE BUS FOR OUR ACADEMY!
When we all pray together and commit to a task, God can do amazing things – far beyond our imagination!
Of course we need some large donors to accomplish raising almost $200,000 for this newer coach bus. However, let’s not minimize even the small gift. I am reminded of two well-known tid-bits of motherly advice during my childhood days – “Leslie, little drops of water make a mighty ocean,” and “a penny saved is a penny earned.”

3. PRAYING FOR OUR CHURCH DISTRICTS & PASTORS
Under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, these words of encouragement were penned for
our churches: “Ask of me, and I will answer your requests. The promise is made on condition that the united prayers of the church are offered, and in answer to these prayers there may be expected a power greater than that which comes in answer to private prayer. The power given will be proportionate to the unity of the members and their love for God and for one another.” [9MR, 303]
Praying for our pastors is very important. They are serving God and the attacks of the enemy are relentless. They must be covered in prayer on a daily basis.
Our prayers should be personalized by saying the title of pastor along with their name since they hold a position of sacred trust for God’s remnant church.
Here’s a suggestion for this month: Why not pray for our pastors by name using these seven scriptural passages:
Heb. 13:21…….Work in them that which is well-pleasing in Your sight.
2 Cor 9:8………Let all grace abound toward them, having sufficiency in all things,
2 Cor 9:8………and an abundance for every good work.
2 Cor 9:6………Because they have sowed bountifully, they will reap bountifully,
1 Cor 3:6………and whether they plant or water, Father, You give the increase.
2 Cor 2:14…….I pray that they continually triumph in Christ,
2 Cor 2:14…….diffusing the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.
