May, 2018 Carolina's 10,000 P5, part 1

The 10,000 President’s Prayer Partners is a fast-growing group of Carolina Conference constituents who take matters such as these to their knees. We invite you to join us, and make this monthly list a matter of prayer. Together we seek the Lord for His answers and provisions to every need we bring before Him.

1. PRAYING FOR OUR COMING 2018 CAMP MEETING AT LOVELY LAKE JUNALUSKA

The theme this year for the 2018 Carolina Camp Meeting is The Great Controversy.

As we approach the closing scenes of earth’s history, we realize that the difficulties we

face personally, in our homes, schools, churches, and in our nation are simply premonitions of the universal panorama in the great controversy between Christ and Satan – between good and evil; between life and death.

We are engulfed in a world saturated with the sadness of sin. Especially in the church, creeping compromises have been at work to disintegrate the fabric of our faithfulness. We have been counseled to live in the world and at the same time cautioned not to be of the world. As pilgrims on our journey toward our Heavenly Canaan, Let’s pray that we will fix our eyes on another time and another place as we dwell on these precious words of hope, comfort and indescribable jubilation:

“The great controversy is ended. Sin and sinners are no more. The entire universe is clean. One pulse of harmony and gladness beats through the vast creation. From Him who created all, flow life and light and gladness, throughout the realms of illimitable space. From the minutest atom to the greatest world, all things, animate and inanimate, in their un-shadowed beauty and perfect joy, declare that God is love.”

Join me in earnest prayer that in a few weeks, God’s people will truly experience that “perfect joy” of Jesus at Lake Junaluska, as we triumph over the grand finale in the story of our redemption.

2. A NEW BUS FOR MOUNT PISGAH ACADEMY

I CHOOSE TO KEEP THIS PRAYER PETITION, WHICH WE LAUNCHED AT THE BEGINNING OF THIS YEAR, BEFORE YOU THROUGH THE REMAING MONTHS OF 2018. LET’S CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR GOD’S PROVISION TILL WE REACH THE REALITY OF THIS DREAM COME TRUE FOR MPA!

There are times when we pray about small things. There are other times we pray over larger items. But nothing is too small or too big for the God that you and I worship! WE TRULY NEED A RELIABLE BUS FOR OUR ACADEMY!

When we all pray together and commit to a task, God can do amazing things – far beyond our imagination!

Of course we need some large donors to accomplish raising almost $200,000 for this newer coach bus. However, let’s not minimize even the small gift.

I’ll keep you posted about the MPA Bus Fund as prayers go up and funds come in! So far we have received only $300.00 toward this project. Nope! I’m not discouraged. And I’m not giving up on this. We’ll press forward to realize our goal! I am reminded of two well-known tidbits of motherly advice during my childhood days – “Leslie, little drops of water make a mighty ocean,” and “a penny saved is a penny earned.”

Would you make this a matter of prayer? Should the Lord impress you to do so, simply make

your contributions to:

3. PRAYING FOR OUR CHURCH DISTRICTS & PASTORS

Under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, these words of encouragement were penned for our churches: “Ask of me, and I will answer your requests. The promise is made on condition that the united prayers of the church are offered, and in answer to these prayers there may be expected a power greater than that which comes in answer to private prayer. The power given will be proportionate to the unity of the members and their love for God and for one another.” [9MR, 303]

Praying for our pastors is very important. They are serving God and the attacks of the enemy are relentless. They must be covered in prayer on a daily basis.

Our prayers should be personalized by saying the title of pastor along with their name since they hold a position of sacred trust for God’s remnant church.

Here’s a suggestion for this month: Why not pray for our pastors by name using these seven scriptural passages:

1. Deut. 28: 2 . . . . That all blessings come upon them and overtake them.

2. Deut. 28:2 . . . . . Because they obey the voice of their God.

3. Psalm 32:8 . . . . Instruct them and teach them in the way they should go.

4. 1 Cor. 2:10 . . . . Reveal the deeper things of God to them by Your Spirit

5. 2 Tim. 2:21 . . . . Let them be vessels of honor, sanctified and useful for the Master.

6. 2 Tim 2:21 . . . . Prepared for every good work.

7. 1 Pet. 5:2 . . . . . Shepherding the flock, willingly, eagerly, and being an example to them.

CONSIDER SENDING THESE PASTORS AN E-MAIL NOTE OF ENCOURAGEMENT AND AFFIRMATION WHEN YOU HAVE PRAYED FOR THEM. BEGINNING WITH THIS ISSUE, WE’VE LISTED THEIR E-MAILS FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE AS MEMBERS OF OUR CAROLINA PRESIDENTS’ PRAYER PARTNER TEAM
