August, 2018 Carolina's 10,000 P5, part 1
The 10,000 President’s Prayer Partners is a fast-growing group of Carolina Conference constituents who take matters such as these to their knees. We invite you to join us, and make this monthly list a matter of prayer. Together we seek the Lord for His answers and provisions to every need we bring before Him.
1. PRAISING GOD FOR GENEROUS & FAITHFUL HEARTS IN CHURCHES ACROSS CAROLINA
Goal Exceeded!! I praise God for the generous hearts of so many of our churches who graciously responded to the desire of the Lesotho Conference to be able to hold a retreat and Unity Conference for their pastoral and conference team (and spouses). This had never been accomplished before due to the lack of financial resources.
After efforts to raise the money from the South African Union and benefactors from within the conference were exhausted, the amount needed for approximately 64
individuals amounted to $8,320 or $130 per person. That covered the cost of hotel, meeting room, recreation at the beach, transportation and meals. To date we have received well over $12,000 and I loved playing Moses for one brief shining moment to tell our pastors to redirect their funds elsewhere!
We are also so grateful for an unprecedented demonstration of the faithfulness of God’s people across North and South Carolina resulting in an increased percentage of tithe returns to the Lord by over 8% from what we experienced last year at the end of June. God’s work is flourishing in the Carolinas as we consecrate these sacred resources for the upward and forward mission in Christ’s vineyard.
2. NEW BUS FOR MOUNT PISGAH ACADEMY . . . GOOD NEWS -- HEAVENLY PROGRESS!!
I CHOOSE TO KEEP THIS PRAYER PETITION, WHICH WE LAUNCHED AT THE BEGINNING OF THIS YEAR, BEFORE YOU THROUGH THE REMAING MONTHS OF 2018. LET’S CONTINUE TO PRAY FOR GOD’S PROVISION TILL WE REACH THE REALITY OF THIS DREAM COME TRUE FOR MPA!
WE TRULY NEED A RELIABLE BUS FOR OUR ACADEMY! There are times when we pray about small items, times we pray over larger items… and we need some large donors to accomplish raising almost $200,000 for this newer bus, but let’s not minimize even the smallest gift – because nothing is too small or too big for the God we worship!
When we all pray together and commit to a task, God can do amazing things – far beyond our imagination!
We’ve not received much toward this project, but Providentially during July we received two separate donations of approximately $6,000. Now we have a significant amount upon which to build reserves toward this dream of a new bus for MPA! I’ll update you as prayers go up and funds come in!
In keeping this need before our Prayer Partners, I am reminded of a wonderful little song… “In His time, In His time… He makes all things beautiful in His time.” Let us not give up on this project. Let us press forward and continue to pray for God’s blessing until we realize the fulfillment of our prayers

3. PRAYING FOR OUR CHURCH DISTRICTS & PASTORS
Under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, these words of encouragement were penned for our churches: “Ask of me, and I will answer your requests. The promise is made on condition that the united prayers of the church are offered, and in answer to these prayers there may be expected a power greater than that which comes in answer to private prayer. The power given will be proportionate to the unity of the members and their love for God and for one another.” [9MR, 303]
Praying for our pastors is very important. They are serving God and the attacks of the enemy are relentless. They must be covered in prayer on a daily basis.
Our prayers should be personalized by saying the title of pastor along with their name since they hold a position of sacred trust for God’s remnant church.
Here’s a suggestion for this month: Why not pray for our pastors by name using these seven scriptural passages:
Genesis 50:20 — May our pastors know that You are at work through every challenge for their good?
Exodus 14:14 — Remind our pastors that it is You who promises to fight their battles.
Deuteronomy 6:5 — May our pastors love You with all their hearts.
II Samuel 22:20 — May our pastors find daily deliverance in knowing that You delight in them.
2 Chronicles 7: 14 — May our pastors experience a personal revival through an earnest life of prayer and time alone with You.
Micah 6:8 — O God, may our pastors always walk humbly before You.
Psalm 91 — Protect our pastors O Lord, under the shelter of Your abiding presence
