February, 2019 Carolina 10,000 P5, part 2

4. Praying for Our Academies, Their Teachers and Their Staff:

We believe that pastoral ministry and educational ministry are equally valuable to the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. God’s messenger to this end-time church underscored this important consideration in these inspired words: “In the highest sense the work of education and the work of redemption are one, for in education, as in redemption, ‘other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.’” Education, Page 3.

Please continue to keep our church schools in your earnest prayers. We still have to contend with an enemy of God and his children. Pray specifically for…

  • Pray for wisdom, courage, spiritual nurture and patience in each of our teachers.

  • Pray for the support staff of each of our schools

  • Pray for Heaven’s protect hedge around our church schools.

  • Pray for the homes and families of our students

  • Pray for the boards and churches that provide resources to operate each of our church schools

Mount Pisgah Academy Appreciation Weekend in February

Since Mount Pisgah Academy is the academy operated by the Carolina Conference, the staff of the conference office has planned something very unique and special this month as a tribute of appreciation to the consecrated work of their administrators, teachers, and support staff. A special recognition goes to Deborah Hutchinson, our Associate Executive Secretary and Human Resource Director for organizing this major event this month called MPA Appreciation Weekend. From Thursday through Sunday – February 14-17, the officers and directors of the Carolina Conference will be on the campus of Mount Pisgah Academy as a voluntary act of filling in for the various classes and activities, thereby giving their staff and administration a break from the campus for this weekend. Please pray for God’s blessings and care for our office team as we serve our academy with hearts of appreciation and a desire to connect even more deeply with our students at that campus.

5. Saturated with the Word

As a President’s Prayer Partner, we again invite you to truly be a people of the Word. As Seventh-day Adventists, we embrace 28 Fundamental truths that are based on the Bible alone. For the past several months we have been focusing on four passages of scripture that are foundational to each of our fundamental beliefs. Here’s our next set of 4 memory passages for February to coincide with our 25th fundamental belief regarding what the Bible teaches about The Second Coming of Christ. Let’s place His Word prayerfully in our hearts each day of this month.

I carry a set of these passages with me in my car and repeat them aloud as I drive from place to place. My goal is to prayerfully say one verse at least five times a day for a week, thus embracing the promise of God’s Word — “Thy Word have I hid in mine heart that I might not sin against Thee.” Psalm 119:11 Repeat these passages over and over till they become a part of your very being. Of course, you can always choose to do more. Prayerfully consider how you can saturate your soul and make His Word a part of your heart every day.

FUNDAMENTAL BELIEF # 25: The Second Coming of Christ

The second coming of Christ is the blessed hope of the church, the grand climax of the gospel. The Savior’s coming will be literal, personal, visible, and worldwide. When He returns, the righteous dead will be resurrected, and together with the righteous living will be glorified and taken to heaven, but the unrighteous will die. The almost complete fulfillment of most lines of prophecy, together with the present condition of the world, indicates that Christ’s coming is near. The time of that event has not been revealed, and we are therefore exhorted to be ready at all times.

  1. Job 19: 25-27 (NKJV) “For I know that my Redeemer lives, And He shall stand at last on the earth; 26 And after my skin is [f]destroyed, this I know, That in my flesh I shall see God,27 Whom I shall see for myself, And my eyes shall behold, and not another. How my heart yearns within me!"

  2. Daniel 7: 13-14 (NKJV) — “I was watching in the night visions, And behold, One like the Son of Man, coming with the clouds of heaven! He came to the Ancient of Days, and they brought Him near before Him. 14 Then to Him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve Him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, And His kingdom the one which shall not be destroyed.”

  3. John 14:1-3 (NKJV) “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many [a]mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”

  4. Hebrews 10:37 (NKJV) —“For yet a little while, and He who is coming will come and will not tarry.”
