June/July, 2019 Carolina's 10,000 P5, part 1
The 10,000 President’s Prayer Partners is a fast-growing group of Carolina Conference constituents who take matters such as these to their knees. We invite you to join us, and make this monthly list a matter of prayer. Together we seek the Lord for His answers and provisions to every need we bring before Him.
1. PRAYING FOR ANOTHER MIRACLE OF A MILLION!
I believe in Miracles! Why? Because I believe in God! The God we worship is truly a God of miracles. Would you join me in praying for a miracle in Carolina.
I believe that Seeking to Save must remain the primary mission of God’s work in the Carolinas. What a day that will be when we will actually see the face of Jesus and hear His beautiful resonant voice saying, “Well done good and faithful servant…Enter into the joy of your Lord.” (Matthew 25: 23)
Although the North American Division has designted 2019 as a Year of Evangelism, I believe every year must remain a year of evangelism in the Carolinas - till we are home with Jesus. Out of the 163 churches/companies in Carolina, this year I am especially grateful for the 136 churches/companies that chose to be engaged in an evangelistic endeavor of kingdom growth. I believe that is the highest number of churches that we have funded with evangelism dollars in the history of the Carolinas.
I pray for that number to increase every year till we have 100% commitment; all 163 churches fully engaged in the work of soul-winning and discipleship. In 2014, we were able to raise over $1,000,000.00 for evangelism. That has been our goal every year since then, and it is not our desire to see us reduce that goal ever till the Lord returns!!
Want to hear some good news?
As a result of our focus on evangelism, our churches have reached 362 precious lives for God’s kingdom as of the end of May. That’s 43 more baptisms and professions of faith than we had one year ago, at the end of May, 2018. PRAISE THE LORD!!
This year, at of the end of May, 2019 we raised $314,755.57 for evangelism. That’s almost $18,000.00 more than what we had raised by last May, 2018. PRAISE THE LORD!!
Over $100,000 for evangelism has already come in during the month of June. PRAISE THE LORD!!
Every dollar of evangelism is dedicated to assist the funding of churches that commit to a program of sowing and reaping for God’s kingdom. PRAISE THE LORD!!
Will you join us in praying for God’s miraculous power?
We now need to raise approximately $585,000 between now and December to celebrate another $1,000,000 that will be consecrated to the work in our churches of leading lives to Jesus.
Will you pray with me that God would convict enough hearts of the nearly 24,000 members in our Carolina family, to raise the remaining balance by the end of this year & reach our evangelism goal?
Will you pray with me that there will be an overwhelming response to a letter that will be mailed out in July inviting every Adventist home in Carolina that longs for Jesus’ return to dedicate an offering to the Lord to reach thousands with the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ?
One Million Dollars is not an impossibility for us to reach! I believe in Miracles because I believe that there are more that enough people in the Carolinas who are true Adventists – people fixated on seeing and being with Jesus!
2. WE DID IT!! PRAISE THE LORD!! A NEW BUS FOR MPA IN 2019!!
During the month of April, 2019 we crossed the threshold of raising $50,000 to receive AdventHealth System’s matching challenge. Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord! With over $100,000 now added to our goal, we are thrilled to report that in early June we received a large gift of unrestricted funds through a trust maturity. The generosity of God’s faithful people has allowed us to exceed the needed $200,000 for the purchase of a brand new bus for the coming school year at Mount Pisgah Academy. Stay tuned for pictures when the bus arrives on campus.
When we all pray together and commit to a task, God can do amazing things – far beyond our imagination!
3. PRAYING FOR OUR CHURCH DISTRICTS & PASTORS
Under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, these words of encouragement were penned for our churches: “Ask of me, and I will answer your requests. The promise is made on condition that the united prayers of the church are offered, and in answer to these prayers there may be expected a power greater than that which comes in answer to private prayer. The power given will be proportionate to the unity of the members and their love for God and for one another.” [9MR, 303]
Praying for our pastors is very important. They are serving God and the attacks of the enemy are relentless. They must be covered in prayer on a daily basis.
Our prayers should be personalized by saying the title of pastor along with their name since they hold a position of sacred trust for God’s remnant church.
Here’s a suggestion for this month: Why not pray for our pastors by name using these seven scriptural passages:
For Protection from Satan Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8).
For Protection from Our Own Sinful Hearts But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death. (James 1:14-15)
For Deep Spiritual Encouragement For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to strengthen you— that is, that we may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith, both yours and mine. (Romans 1:11-12)
For Wisdom If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. (James 1:5)
For Doctrinal Faithfulness By the Holy Spirit who dwells within us, guard the good deposit entrusted to you (2 Timothy 1:14).
For A Healthy Body But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified (1 Corinthians 9:27).
For A Strong Marriage & Family Therefore an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not a drunkard, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money. He must manage his own household well, with all dignity keeping his children submissive, for if someone does not know how to manage his own household, how will he care for God’s church (1 Timothy 3:2-6)
