June, 2018 Carolina's 10,000 P5, part 2

4. PRAISING GOD FOR HIS BLESSINGS IN SUPPORT OF EVANGELISM & DISCIPLESHIP

As of the end of May, we are over 1/3 of the way toward our goal of $1,000.000 with $335,116.78 raised in actual monies received. This doesn’t take into consideration the pledges that were made both at our Elders’ Retreat and at Camp Meeting! Praise the Lord!! May the Lord continue to bless us with more generous hearts who long to reach hearts for Heaven.

Although Carole and I choose to regularly support the work of evangelism through our online giving each month, at our Lake Junaluska camp meeting we too sacrificially bring our largest investment for the ministry of proclaiming the everlasting gospel. I am praying specifically that God will move the hearts of at least 1000 families in the Carolinas to join us in dedicating $1,000 a year toward our evangelistic ministry of reaching lost souls for Christ till the day we see His face. Thank you so very much for joining us as part of our family of believers and partners in the proclamation of the mission and message Christ has entrusted to His last day church.

It has been the primary goal of the Carolina Conference to focus and passionately pray for the power and presence of the Holy Spirit to reach at least a thousand new souls every year for God’s kingdom. By God’s grace may we, as His people in this part of His vineyard, earnestly seek Heaven’s blessings of resources as we invest our energies and resources to truly live out our lives as Adventists whose greatest hope is to be reunited with our Savior.

5. REMEMBERING AND KEEPING IN FOCUS OUR 2020 VISION

1. VISION V: FOSTER A CULTURE OF SOUL WINNING

PRAY AND COMMIT PRAY AND COMMIT to enrich the Sabbath School Programs of

our Conference to include an intentional and inclusive focus on all four dimensions of the Adult Sabbath School Ministry.

  • Mission - through a regular focus on mission stories and utilization of media such as Mission Spotlight or Mission Sonlight DVD’s.

  • Fellowship - through a time for testimonials prayer requests & praises.

  • Outreach - through an emphasis on witnessing opportunities and stories.

  • Bible Study - through the utilization of teacher resources and young adults in an in-depth study of the Sabbath School Lesson Study.

To accomplish this, my desire is that we follow the guidance of the world church and the North American Division to re-establish the term “Sabbath School” in place of “The Church at Study” in at least 50 Carolina churches that will serve as models for the four-fold function of Sabbath School Ministry.

I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude and congratulations to the first three of five Carolina churches that responded to the President’s $1000.00 Challenge highlighted in the very first issue of the Carolina Action in 2018. We still have time for two more churches to qualify this year as a model of Adult Sabbath School Programs in the Carolina Conference! We were truly glad to acknowledge these churches during our final Sabbath at Camp meeting this month for their role in supporting and enhancing the Sabbath School ministry of the Carolina Conference:
